Love list - Haiti edition

Online, offline, I've read so much about the Haiti earthquake this week, and two posts stood out, for illuminating the everyday life of the country which is facing disaster piled upon privitation: Elizabeth Briel and Owen both brought to life the Haitian people in a way that no sensationalist news report can ever hope to.

  1. Thanks for the links. They do show a much more personal view of Haiti than we're seeing on the news.
It's hard to imagine worse devastation and suffering than Haiti is enduring.

  2. Hi J !

Thanks a million for your kind words here...

I too have been overwhelmed by all the reporting on the unbelievably huge disaster in progress there... and wanted to share a quieter, more peaceful vision.

Simply thanks, and as we say here in France, bon courage...

  4. Thanks for the link, J - as did Owen, I wanted to share alternative images of Haiti. And hope for what it can become. There is so much creativity there and in the Haitian diaspora which is influential in the country.
