  5. Did you lock up China behind you? Have you been locked inside somewhere or your are locked out from what? I am seeing too much into your photo. Enjoy your little bit of freedom for the moment, new windows will surely soon open for you.

  7. What a super image J, and that looks like a fancy new lock, the sort of ying and yang of new and old.

  8. Great colors and composition!

To me, it symbolizes the oppression of communism, but also the old China (rust, peeling paint) and the new China (modernistic design of the padlock).

  9. Old door, new lock, and that blue rope looks kind of festive. Very interesting photo.

  10. Hmm, so I wonder what was all locked up there ??? Must be a trip to be back in England after China. Sincerely hope that not all doors are locked and that new and promising horizons will appear...

  11. It was very interesting to read all your interpretations! This is a lock on a beach hut in my hometown, and what first drew me to it was that it was so shabby in comparison with its neatly tended companions. And then I couldn't resist the combination of colours and textures.
I saw in it a slight mystery - why *was* that beach hut so shabby, in contrast with the shiny new lock? And if I want to get all philosohical, the mystery of what is locked up in general within us...
