I still have so many China photos that I've never posted, including plenty of doorway photos from Qingdao, a city that was blessed with so many photogenic and inviting doorways that I'm surprised I didn't get into trouble for losing all self control and investigating what exactly was tucked away just out of view.
Here, I could only peer and imagine, but now I'm enjoying exploring doorways more metaphorical.
Doorways are fascinating, in a real and metaphorical sense.
ReplyDeleteInteresting photo that makes we wonder what lies beyond.
I'm always absolutely fascinated by doorways. I was very tempted to go nosying into the hutongs in Beijing, such very expressive entrances... I love this picture :)
ReplyDeleteMy friend Nancy took tons of door pictures when we were in Bhutan. There were some pretty cool doors there as well. I like this shot!
ReplyDeleteI admired your list of things to do. I need a list for at home. Friday I made one for work but the list at home is much longer because it's full of stuff I don't like to do.
And now you have these lovely images to stir your imagination! Hope you'll post more of them!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful shot - doors and windows around the world are some of my most favourite things to take photos of..
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure trove of doorways you must have tucked away... hopefully slowly to be revealed through the cold months of Winter ? The doors of perception ?
ReplyDeleteDon't fret, there are plenty of Chinese doorways to keep you entertained on cold winter evenings! I'm so glad there are other people who appreciate my penchant for doorways!
ReplyDelete'The door of perception?' Interesting comment - doorways change so much in different countries - reflecting ways we view housing, the home - and metaphorical, how our 'doorway' onto the world works.
I love doorways! They are always a new adventure aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI've got so much to catch up on with everyone!
What a thought-provoking picture! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteLovely doorway - and interesting. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDoorways becon to see what is beyond. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a penchant for doors and doorways. Sometimes it leads us to an uncharted path, some with surprise, others with great delight. It is not for us to tell what lies beyond the door, often times, it's worth the try. Very nice post, indeed.
ReplyDeleteLovely, slightly mysterious doorway!
ReplyDeleteAnd you've re-done your blog - looks great!
I kind of said it already, but I just love reading the comments on this post - I can't wait to share the rest of my hoard with you.
